Heather Gordon took at first place in the
Area 6 International Speech Contest held at the Ashfield Catholic Club on
Saturday 28th February.
With her speech entitled ‘Global Cooling’
Heather fought off stiff competition from seasoned rival Club Burwood
Toastmasters.
In addition Lyndal Eager-Tucker who was
Runner Up to arch rivals, Burwood, also superbly represented Concord West in
the Area 6 Evaluation Contest.
Club Member and Area 6 Governor John
Hughson officiated as Contest Chair and Past District Governor Jan Vecchio
stood in for Phillip Division Governor Peter Crosby as Chief Judge.
We wish Heather all the best as she now
goes on to represent our Club and Area 6 for a second time in just 2 Division
Contests on Friday 20th March.
Heather and Lyndal’s names join an
impressive list of Concord West representatives on our Honour Role;
