CONCORD WEST CLUB SOCIAL – Tuesday 9th March 2021

Almost exactly 12 months to the day since our Toastmasters Club moved to almost weekly Online ZOOM Meetings due to Covid19, the Club Executive planned a second very well attended Club Social Night at Burwood RSL.

With almost 40% of our current Membership having never attended a Face2Face Toastmaster Meeting it was to be expected many Members were quite surprised to meet fellow Members in person. We were also joined by a couple of Members supposes as well.

Most members took advantage of the 2 for 1 Meal Deal and everyone enjoyed a great night of fellowship.

VPE Lana and VPPR Melody conspired to instigate a number of Ice Breaker games which also helped to make many of the New Members feel very welcome.

The evening also provided an opportunity to congratulate our recent Are 6 and Philip Division Competitors and celebrate Sonya's success at Phillip Division with a thoughtful bouquet of flowers from the Club Membership.

PHILIP DIVISION INTERNATIONAL & EVALUATION CONTESTS – ZOOM – Sunday 7th March 2021

Concord West Toastmasters was well represented again this year.

Sonya with here Area 6 International Speech Trophy

Sonya Dankha presented her Area 6 Winning Speech; "Can Life Get Any Worse"

Sonya was the first of 7 Area Speakers from Phillip Division and gave a well polished performance.

Philip Bendeich represented Area 6 and Concord West Toastmasters in the Evaluation Contest.

Philip Bendeich (representing Burwood Toastmasters Club) competed in the International Speech Contest as well.

On the day Sonya was placed Third in an impressive field.

Sonya is now one of 4 current Members from our Club to compete and be placed at Phillip Division Contest. The first of many no doubt.   

In addition, we have 2 other Members of our Club representing other Clubs and Areas in upcoming Division Contests.

VPM Melody Liang is competing in the Central Division International Speech Contest and President Harini Sundaramurthy is competing in yet another Lachlan Division Evaluation Contest representing Simply Toastmasters for Area 9.
