CONCORD WEST TOASTMASTERS HIGHLY AWARDED YET AGAIN

 At todays District 70 2019-2020 Awards Presentation Afternoon Online Event, Concord West was highly distinguished to take out the Rick Haynes Mentoring Excellence Award for 2019-2020.

Current Vice President Membership Peter Crosby accepted the Award on behalf of the Club and acknowledged the exceptional vision and determination of then Vice President Education and current Club President, Harini Sundaramurthy in putting this program together and making it a reality.

Concord West was also the recipient of a Gold Award for a new Category related to Clubs that have supported and implemented Online Meetings from the very beginning of the Covid19 lockdown.

Concord West Toastmasters was also acknowledge for achievements in the Distinguished Club Program and one of our Members, Philip Bendeich was acknowledged for achieving a Triple Crown during that Toastmaster year as well.

We had nominations in for 2 PR Awards, but we were up against some stiff completion.

John provided an overview of the 4 Toastmaster Contests along with some personal incites into each of the Contests. The 20 minute Educational was Videoed and will be available shortly on our ClubÆs closed YouTube Channel.

The intention was then to watch a Live-Stream of the International Semi Finals Speech Contest from the International Conference in the US. However the start time was delayed.

So we had an impromptu Speech from;

 

Speaker 1: Philip B [PW5.1 PM] – “The Future of Mentoring”

This is our Clubs first Level 5 Pathway Speech.

 

We then played 2 Speeches from the Lance Miller Collection our Club purchased last year.

Speaker 2: LeCroye  – “Ouch”

Speaker 3: Craig Valentine – “A Key to Fullfilment”

 

The International Speech Semi Finals then started and Members were free to stay on and watch up to 7 Contestants hosted by – Peter C.

No formal Closing to the Meeting on this occasion.
