Leadership Manual
Evaluation - Philip.
The first prepared speech session was led by Toastmaster Mark.
The First Speech of the session was delivered by Brett who
is doing a speech from his Advanced Manual where was required to read a famous
speech from history whilst giving the audience background information of the
speech. Brett’s chosen speech was the Gettysburg Address by Abraham Lincoln. Brett
was Evaluated by Glenn D who
commented on Brett’s ability to capture the spirit of the speech and the values
which Abraham Lincoln stood for.
The Second Speech of the session was delivered by Meghan who
presented an Educational to the Club about the upcoming Club Humorous Speech
and Table Topics Competition including information on the processes such as the
judging criteria and the formalities involved in the holding of such a
competition. Meghan was Evaluated by
Daniel who correctly pointed out the clarity of the speech even as a large
amount of information was being disseminated.
The Chairman of
the second half was Philip.
The second half began with a Toast by Brett who toasted
Glenn D who has been part of the club for close to 3 years, who had been a
loyal member, and who had recently taken on the added position of Sergeant At
Arms in conjunction with his role as Secretary.
The Table Topics
Master was Daniel and he conducted the segment as a rehearsal for
the Table Topics Competition in two weeks’ time applying competition rules.
Daniel gave topics that were broad and not necessarily tied in with a specific
theme or topic, giving the participants plenty of space to experiment. The Table Topics participants were Evaluated by Heather and Faz who both conducted
their duties very well bearing in mind that there were fourteen participants.
Timer’s Report was conducted by Lyndal.
Big Ears was delivered by new
member Daniel D.
The General
Evaluation was expertly scrutinized by Paul.
Meghan took the meeting through the Forward Planner.
Our four guests provided positive feedback in the Guest’s Comments portion of the
meeting.

the club members to participate in the Cub’s Humorous Speech and Table Topics
Competition as well as encouraging club members to sign up and assist with
Concord West Toastmaster’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations in October.
