Special Seniors Open Meeting – Tuesday 12 April 2016 – 3 Weeks

Special Business Session:

Vice President Public Relations John Hughson Chaired this segment.

John H explained the need to update our Treasurer and Banking details since the departure of the Treasurer Paul Viviers.

John explained that the Bank requires a Minuted confirmation of the appointment of a new Treasurer and request for a change in the Signatories.

Based on external guidance John H read the following statement:

“The Club Executive moves to appoint Glen Hobbs Treasurer of the Club for the remaining Term of the Toastmaster year to 30th June 2016.

This is to replace the retiring Treasurer Paul Viviers who is relocating out of Sydney.

Furthermore that the Club appoint 3 Signatories (John, Hughson, Glen Hobbs, and Bernard Lo) to the Bank Account Bank:
Commonwealth Bank of Australia – BSB: 062-216 – Account #: 00900314
active immediately and superseding all previous Signatories.

With a directive that any two to are to sign. And in addition that these Signatories have online access to the Account where possible.”

Club Member Lyndal Eager-Tucker raised a Point of Order – that a formal request for Nominations be called for from the floor.

VPM John H then called for further nominations 3 times.

There being no additional nominations, a seconder for the motion was requested.

Seconded by VPM Kate Crosby.

Glen Hobbs was duly appointed Treasurer and third Signatory of the Bank account along with John Hughson and President Bernard Lo.

The really big news tonight was Paul and Lesley Vivier’s announcement (in Paul’s Confessional Speech) that they are moving to Newcastle to be closer to family. As Such tonight was Paul’s last meeting with us after almost (if not over) 10 years in the Club.

Paul (and Lesley) will be greatly missed and the entire Club wishes them all the very best in their future relocation and hope to both see them again at some stage in the future for a visit to our future meetings and trust that Paul will find a Club in his new locale nd be as much of an inspiration to them as he has been to us in Concord West over so many years....

Remember Paul, “Every time you attend Toastmasters, I learn something new”... keep on learning. 

All the best for the future Paul Viviers. You will be missed.
