CONCORD WEST 50 YEARS ACKNOWLEDGED AT SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS 2022

 BELATED 50 YEARS RECOGNISED

Having had 2 years without the Canada bay Sustainability Awards, due to Covid the event was reconvened at the Phoenix Chinese Restaurant in Rhodes Waterside.

Following an enquiry regarding some possible recognition of Concord West's 60th Anniversary year at the Annual Canada Bay Council's Sustainability Awards, it was found that the categories only allowed for 50, 75 or 100 years recognition.

However Canada Bay Council discovered that there had been – what they thought – was an oversight in acknowledging our 50th Anniversary and insisted on presenting the Club with one free ticket to the Awards Night.

As current President John had already received an invitation to attend as a finalist in the Heritage Awards for his involvement with Ardill House, it was deemed appropriate that the Immediate Past President and Area 6 Director Lana should represent Concord West Toastmasters.

The Club received yet another plaque to add to its growing collection.

The irony is that the Council had in fact already acknowledged our 50th Anniversary presented at our 50th Anniversary Dinner by Mayor Angelo and bestowed upon our then Club President Philip B.

CONCORD WEST TOASTMASTER SELECTED TO PRESENT THE STUDENTS VOTE OF THANKS

GRADUATION – "VOTE OF THANKS"

Concord West Toastmaster Lana was selected by the University staff to deliver the Students "Vote of Thanks" at her Graduation Ceremony at the Australian Catholic University in October 2022.

Lana had practiced and received open Evaluation fro Club Members at Concord West Toastmasters as well as StageTime! Toastmasters in the lead up to the presentation which was recorded and the Link can be found on our Club YouTube Channel.
